Effect of Partial Replacement of Fish Meal by Soya Flour in the Diets of Freshwater Prawn and Two Indian Major Carps
View through CrossRef
A growth study was conducted to evaluate soya flour incorporated diet with replacement of fish meal in mono and polyculture of prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) with Indian major carps (Catla catla and Labeo rohita). Two diets with incorporation of fish meal and soya flour protein were fed to prawn and carps in 25 m2 cement cisterns for 180 days. Growth of both prawn and carps was higher when they were reared together in polyculture. Survival of both the animals was the highest in polyculture of prawn and carps.
