View through Harvard Museums

The key iconographic components are carefully traced out with individualized tesserae outlined and shaded, whereas some background areas are left blank. The photographic reproduction is based on tracings made on the spot with tracing paper over the actual mosaics by carefully defining the shape and size of each individual mosaic tessera in the composition.
