The Kameyama gleichstation at the base of the mountain, at the height of which is the castle (Kameyama jō gleichgleich様) of the daimyō Ishikawa. As with Hakone, Hiroshige reinforces the impression of a narrow steep path up the mountain by a daimyō train (daimyō gyōretsu 大様様), in which the followers are pushed close together slowly. The steep lines of the mountain that pass through the whole picture are only broken by the two jaws in the center of the picture. This sheet was printed with an already worn print stock. He lacks the clear lines of an early print (cf. AI 13630-4). Winter Landscape
