Introduction: Empowered and healthy motherhood is key to safe pregnancy and childbirth. Prolonged or obstructed labour remains a major cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. The World Health Organization recommends the partograph as an effective tool to monitor labour and reduce maternal deaths. It is widely recognized as the gold standard for labour monitoring. Methodology: A pre-experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme on knowledge and practices of partograph among 33 purposively selected staff nurses. Data were collected using a self-structured questionnaire and checklist, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Post-intervention results showed a significant improvement in knowledge and practice scores among 33 staff nurses. Good knowledge increased from 75.8% (pretest) to 93.9% (posttest), with mean scores rising from 27.7 to 32.64 (t = 8.235, p < 0.001). Good practice levels improved from 90.9% to 97%, with mean scores increasing from 20.85 to 23.55 (t = 7.968, p < 0.001). Both improvements were statistically significant. Conclusion: The structured teaching programme effectively enhanced the knowledge and practices of partograph use among staff nurses.
