Porcelain automaton doll. Head with fixed blue eyes with upper eyelashes of hair and lower eyelashes of fine line and feathered eyebrows, half-open mouth showing teeth, natural hair cut in the form of mane, papier-mâché legs, dressed in a short pink velvet coat and a 20's cap. She rests on a square box of brocaded silk with a key which, when wound up, produces music and movement of the doll's head. The S.F.B.J. factory was born as a consequence of the crisis suffered in the 1890's by the French doll manufacturers in the face of the German push. Ten partners joined the company, including Jumeau.
