Investigating climate change and its impact on people's livelihood in Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a landlocked and mountainous country located in South Asia and Central Asia. Afghanistan is a country with high geographical diversity, which is divided into three distinct regions: the northern plains, which are known as agricultural areas, the southwestern plateau, which includes most of the desert and semi-arid areas, and the central highlands, which are It includes the Hindu Kush mountain range. Afghanistan has hot summers and cold winters. Different regions of Afghanistan have different temperatures throughout the year, including cold and harsh winters in the central and northeastern highlands, and hot summers in the southwestern and northern low-altitude regions. This article poses the question of what effect does climate change have on people's livelihood in Afghanistan? With analytical-descriptive method on variables; because: climate change, livelihood, people and Afghanistan are emphasized. The most important guiding goal of this research; Identifying and obtaining the impact of climate change on people's livelihood in Afghanistan. Research findings show that climatic conditions in Afghanistan have a great impact on agriculture, livestock and other economic and social aspects. Climate change can be a serious challenge for the people of Afghanistan and needs; Such as: management of water resources, sustainable agriculture and management of natural crises. In this article, the impact of climate change on the livelihood of the people of Afghanistan, especially in the fields of agriculture and weather, is examined, and ways to deal with and compromise with these changes are suggested. This article can be a useful resource for researchers, students and those interested in the fields of climatology, geography and environmental studies in Afghanistan and similar areas.
