هذ البحث قراءة في فكر وليد معابرة من خلال كتابه "ذكريات خبيثة" وقد كشفت القراءة أنّ وليداً مفكر عميق، ومثقف واسع الثقافة، وناقد بصير بالقضايا التي يعج ُّ بها المجتمع العربيّ كافة. وقد وزعنا البحث على مقدمة وتمهيد، وأبعاد خمسة هي: البعد الإسلامي، والبعد العربي، والبعد الوطني، والبعد التّاريخي، والبعد الأدبي واللغوي.
والبعد الإسلامي هو الأساس الذي يصدر عنه وليد في الحكم على الأمور، ثم أعقبنا ذلك بخاتمة رصدنا فيها ما توصلنا إليه من أفكار.
